Well it’s already November first already! Two months let of 2007. Where did the year go!
I am a member of BNI, a business networking organization. I frequently read/listen to the posts over at BNIPodcast.com. I was also reading from Dr. Misner’s blog at Entrepreneur.com and he mentioned some creative business card ideas. The best was to hand write your cell phone number on your business card. Doing this gives your card something personal and raises the chance your prospect will keep it.
Some other ideas for networking are to get out of your comfort zone, talk to people! Don’t just start handing out your card ask them what they do. Ask what they did before that. Be sincerely interested in what they do and you will stick out in their mind. We all know an insurance agent but do we know more about them such as they play in a band or are an Eagle Scout? Take your time and listen.
